Our Chiropractic Techniques
We use a number of highly-effective adjusting approaches to help improve spinal bio mechanics and reduce nervous system interference. The approach we use is based on our judgment and years of experience.
The primary adjusting techniques we use include:
Soft Tissue Manipulation
This method is used by Dr. Nerli for several important reasons: the first is to help normalize musculoskeletal dysfunction prior to the chiropractic adjustment; secondly, it helps restore postural and functional integrity by altering structural positions of the musculoskeletal segment; and lastly, it is part of our comprehensive approach to health care in which the reflex activity of surface structures is used both diagnostically and therapeutically.
Stretch Therapy
Stretch Therapy is a form of assisted physical exercise in which a specific muscle, or muscle group, is deliberately elongated to its fullest length in order to improve the muscle's elasticity and re-establish a comfortable muscle tone. The result is a feeling of increased muscle control, flexibility and range of motion. Many athletes stretch before or after exercise in order to increase performance and reduce injury. PNF stretching (an acronym for proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation) is an effective way to increase static-passive flexibility. It involves a static stretch of a muscle immediately after maximally contracting it and and typically involves a 5-10 second push phase followed by a 5-10 second relaxation phase, repeated a few times.
Nutritional Counseling
"The goal of nutrition counseling is to help a person make and maintain dietary changes. To this end, we will assist the individual in making healthy food choices and form healthy eating habits. We assess your usual dietary intake and identify areas where change is needed. We provide current information, educational materials, and offer support that will help you maintain the good eating habits you develop."
Massage Therapy
Massage therapy is the practice of applying structured (or unstructured) pressure, tension, motion, or vibration - manually or with mechanical aids - to the soft tissues of the body, including muscles, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments, joints, lymphatic vessels, organs of the gastrointestinal system and reproductive system to achieve a beneficial response
