Visiting Our Fresh Meadows Chiropractic Practice

If you’ve ever gone to a social event where you didn’t know anyone, you know how uncomfortable that can make you feel.  Our goal is to eliminate every shred of apprehension and make you feel at home.

Since chiropractic care involves a series of visits, with each one building on the ones before, it’s important that our relationship can go the distance. We’ve found that one of the best ways to have successful patient relationships is to explain everything in advance. No surprises!

The more you understand who we are, what we do and why we do it, the better results you’ll enjoy. It’s as simple as that.

So, check us out here. Poke around. Get to know us. Then, contact us to make an appointment so we can get to know you.

Your First Visit

On your first visit, we will get to know you through questions you will answer on our patient intake forms as well as questions we will ask during your initial consultation. The more I know about you, the more I will be able to help you. I promise you that we will continue to learn more about you over the course of the first few visits. We use a visual pain scale and pain diagram to help identify your complaints and to prioritize your treatment areas.

Make sure to bring some form of identification; a driver's license will usually do. Make sure you set aside at least one hour for your first visit.

After your consultation we will perform a "problem focused exam." Just like it sounds, this kind of exam focuses on your specific complaint. We will evaluate your posture, perform a full spinal range of motion study, followed by orthopedic tests, where we push, pull and/or generally move the area that's bothering you and see if that makes you feel better or worse (don't worry, I am very gentle with you), and lastly, we "palpate" the area, which is a fancy way of saying we touch the area of complaint to see how it feels.

In most cases we are able to render some kind of treatment, so you should feel better before you leave the office, at which time we'll schedule your follow-up appointment, which is generally within 1 or 2 days.

Your Second Visit

On your second visit, we will ask you how you are feeling and what activities you were able to perform that you may not have been able to perform previously.

We may ask a few more questions depending upon your answers before proceeding to your treatment. We will once again ask you to complete a visual pain scale and pain diagram. (This usually only takes a few moments.)

This visit takes about half the time of your first visit. Sometimes, depending upon your progress and condition, we may begin to evaluate your eating habits, i.e., the foods you eat, the times of day that you eat, etc. You would be amazed as to how much the food you eat can affect your condition.

Regular Visits

Avoid relapse with regular visits.

You will find out once we get the ball rolling, that receiving a Chiropractic adjustment does not take all that long, so you wont have to block off a large portion of time out of your day.

We continue to have you complete a visual pain scale and pain diagram on each visit. This helps us measure your progress and to prioritize your treatment areas. We will continue to get to know you better, learn about your personal habits, hobbies and activities, interests, etc. You see, we don't really treat conditions in our office, we treat individuals.
